Pounamu Riverstone Pendant #12
Carved into the shape of a riverstone tumbled smoothed into a perfect oval by it's journey down the river. This design is inspired by the rivers of the Hokitika region where most of the top quality Pounamu is found in New Zealand.
This particular pendant has beautiful white and gold flower like inclusions running deep into the forest green jade, like surf on a deep green ocean.
Each of these pendants are numbered because they are one offs and carved into slightly different shapes using different stones each with its own unique character. The silver part is also individually carved from wax to fit each piece of stone.
I carved each of these pendants myself choosing a particular of the stone to capture the ombre effect of the colour change between the heart of the stone and the colourful edge.
Hung on our heavier gauge 75cm sterling silver chain.
